The land for this exceptional residential subdivision was purchased from Harold Mason, who had proudly cultivated the acreage as a tree and farm nursery for over 50 years. Mr. Mason developed the nature paths that wind along the streams of Huntington Woods, part of the 33 acres of recreational land owned by the Huntington Woods Association. Mr. Mason planted several species of evergreens and bulbs to enhance the beauty of these paths.

Although Harold Mason now lives in California, he and David Shipman keep in touch. Mr. Mason left a legacy of love for this land—a love shared by Mr. Shipman.

Site Profile

Huntington Woods is an upscale subdivision within the City of Saline. It offers all municipal improvements, including city water, sewer, trash pickup, and fire protection.

   The individual lots in Huntington Woods are a minimum of 1/2 acre in size.
   The property’s terrain is rolling hills—particularly in the proposed Phase II of the project. Deep valleys and streams delineate the proposed Phase III.
   There are 33 acres of recreational land owned by the Huntington Woods Association. Nature paths wind throughout this area of the development—all hardwood forest.
   Huntington Woods touches the Saline River on the north side of the property. Streams running through the subdivision are tributaries of this river.

Building Specifications

Homes built in Huntington Woods must be approved for architecture with emphasis on natural materials, but may include textured vinyl siding, as approved.

   Size restrictions are 1,800 square feet for single-story dwellings, 2,200 square feet for 1-1/2 stories, and 2,400 square feet for two stories.
   Fences are not permitted, and storage of trucks, recreational vehicles, trailers, etc. is not allowed outside.
   The roads and streetlights in Huntington Woods are private and maintained by the Association.
