Aboretum HomepageWith all Saline has to offer, it’s no wonder that CNN/Money Magazine recently named it one of the country’s top 50 “Best Places to Live” out of more than 1,300 cities rated. The Arboretum is a 41 acre residential development on the southeast side of Saline, MI. It has natural features that rival “Up North” communities. A recreational area called Wilderness Park borders its western side, a mill pond and wetlands rim the south and east, and a conservation easement (preserved farm land) is due east. Inside the development are rolling, tree-lined hills subdivided into 46 spacious home sites. The Arboretum is one of two subdivisions within the City of Saline with zoning that requires a minimum of ½ acre per lot. The Arboretum is serviced by paved streets with streetlights, city sewer and water, fire and police protection and trash collection. About 25% of The Arboretum has been set aside for wetlands and community areas. The Arboretum is conveniently located just a mile from downtown, two miles to the new Saline High school and within walking distance to an elementary school. US 23 is just five minutes east down Willis Road, and Saline-Milan Road is just a quarter mile to the west. The Saline Public School system is well recognized as one of the best in southeastern Michigan. The new high school is spectacular. The Saline Public Library and the Recreational Facility stand as shining examples of the community’s commitment to its residents. Downtown Saline is a collection of restaurants and eclectic shopping with a charming, historic and “small town” ambiance. Grocery stores and other convenient shopping stores are located on the fringe of town to meet your everyday needs. |
